What happen to the airport screeners that let the highjacker through on 9-11?

I was just wondering ,, I have not hear anything since that day,,

where they fired, place on leave,transfer, retire , face a fine,,,

What did the airlines/airport do??

I'm not placing blame on them, I'm just curious ,,I do not want to start he/said /she said left/right/ stuff just want to know what happen to them,,

The highjackers were not carrying anything restricted at the time of the attacks, so the screeners did nothing wrong. It was only after 9/11 that restrictions on all sharp objects, liquids, gels, etc came into effect.

The whole system was revamped, they were not to blame as much as the system was to lax. That is why you go through so much more now. The things we give up for freedom, it makes you wonder doesn't it?

All the private screeners were let go and the government hired new government employees to do the job.
