  1. The people of the old testament who beleived in God were deemed righteous. The old testament taught that as a result of sin, there would be a punishment, guidelines were set up for people to follow, knowing that God would provide an answer to their sin problem. Although they did not know what exactly or how God would provide, all those who by faith believed this were deemed righteous by God. The entire old testament points to what was to come, and anyone who by faith believed this, died knowing that they were saved. At Christ's death, He overcame sin and all before, all at that time, and all of the future who....like is said, believe by faith are saved.

  2. You do not have to believe in Jesus to enter heaven.  Jesus told us that in His Father's house there are many rooms.  Anyone who has lived a decent life according to their conscience, is saved.

  3. Actually, people in the Old Testament did believe in Jesus, as in the coming Messiah.  "Moreover, brethren, I would not that ye should be ignorant, how that all our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed through the sea; And were all baptized unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea; and did all eat the same spiritual food; and did all drink the same spiritual drink; for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them:  and that Rock was Christ."  1 Corinthians 10:1-4.  Jesus told the Jews who did not believe in Him on one occasion:  "Your father Abraham rejoiced to see my day:  and he saw it, and was glad."  John 8:58.  The Old Testament patriarchs and matriarchs looked forward to the coming Messiah and his saving sacrifice [the Lamb Who takes away the sin of the world, John 1:29] by faith.  Those who did not believe in the Christ in OT times, well, they perished due to their unbelief.  See Hebrews 4:1, 2 and 1 Corinthians 10:5-12.  Many "New Testament only" Christians are following in the same error as the original people of God in OT times:  they can't see Jesus and the gospel in the Old Testament.  Take heed, lest ye fall.

  4. Does it really matter? What about the cave men, they had no religious leader so did they go to h**l? Why don't you focus on living instead of people who died over a thousand years ago?

  5. if they didn't believe that the Messiah was coming then yes they did go to h**l. if they believe that God was going to send a Savior then they went to heaven.

  6. All those who died BEFORE Jesus are sleeping in their graves awaiting a resurrection to the new earth, under God's heavenly Kingdom

    Maybe...

    When Jesus descended into Hades (or h**l) at His Resurrection, He did this in order to preach the Gospel to every human being from Adam and Eve until His appearance on earth as the promised Messiah at the age of 30. This was so that every human being is given the opportunity to either accept Christ or to reject Him. For the same reason, before the Second Coming of Christ, the Good News of the New Testament will have reached every place on earth and every human being on earth will have heard of Christ. The end of the world will not happen until the Gospel has been preached to every nation. This is because God is a merciful God and gives everyone the opportunity to be saved before the final Judgment Day.

    Just My Thoughts!

  7. Before Jesus was the Mosaic law.  That is the law of sacrifice.  Since God had set up this system those that dutifully adhered to these rules were saved.  I have heard that Jesus atoning sacrifice flows backwards as well as forwards to redeem those that call upon God to be saved.  All I know is that God honored the sacrifices of the people and even before temple practice dealt with people on a one on one basis and they were saved.  Enoch, Noah, and Abraham.  Though the latter two have been recorded to make sacrifices to God.

    Now for the bad news or good news.  Since Jesus came and fulfilled the sacrifice once and for all he is now the only sure way to salvation.  I say it this way because I am sure that there are a few corners of the Earth that have not heard the good news.  Those who have never heard the Gospel will be judged by what God revealed to them as he did in the past.

  8. Some of this depends on the age when these people died. If they died before the "age of accountability" or before they were old enough to reject God's teachings, they were covered by God's grace.

    But Scripturee tells us that people are born in sins, and that all of us have sinned and come short of God's glory. When Adam and Eve, our original parents, sinned, we inherited that sin nature from them. The Old Testament has examples of people who invented gods and goddesses, worshipping them instead of the true God of the Bible. Anyone and everyone who rejected God, the God of the Bible, went to h**l. Dr. R. C. Sproul did a series on this very topic some time ago. You can check his website, http://www.ligonier.org and see what he has available.

    But you don't have to go to h**l, and neither does anyone else! Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved!

  9. they will be Judged according to the Laws in Genius thru Numbers.there are 613 Laws 248 were Positive as like the same number of Bones in our human body, and 365 witch were Negative(shalt not) as like the same number of Tendons in our bodies to (negative being they pull away from the bones). Jews are going to be judged according to the laws, the sins of the unjust will weigh out the good. God(God+o=good) will do as the law he has written. even the Lord is mentioned in the First Testament(old) his appearance with meshack , mad shack and Abendigo. God even wrote on the wall. before the Bible their was more of God showing himself, then to make the Word, even Jesus said blessed is they that yet have not seen(hence us) Bible also shows God's love to give us a chance to believe, and show us now he is coming to take the church soon Read Matthew 24-25, and look into it for yourself. The Bible says the fallen before sinner and believers will arise form the ground, the dust. And all will be judged and seen their lives, All meens all.Read Rev, in the18-22 chapter I recal.God bless hope to shine a light on it for you. the fact are in this below

  10. All of them went thru the Death Process----With the exception of Enoch and Elijah;

    Enoch the Seventh Man from Adam,went for a Walk one morning and God called Him up to Heaven;This is the Picture of the Catching up of the Church; Elijah went up in the Lord"s chariot of Fire;Things get Hot when a True Prophet of God shows up;

  11. God speaks to them everyday....you have to read old testament carefully. And Jesus is God....so, if they believe in God....it's just the same. Jesus came as human didn't mean that He has just created. He is God Himself..

    So, people who believe in God before He was born, belongs to Him.

  12. God being God and time not relating to Him Jesus saved those before Jesus time also.  This does not mean all were saved since some chose to serve satan instead of God.  They will be lost as they will be lost today.

  13. People who died in the Old Testament times entered into what is known as Sheol. This place had two areas: h**l, and paradise. God was in neither place, but paradise was obviously more comfortable. Those who had faith in God lived i paradise.

    After Jesus died on the cross, he went to Sheol and freed those in paradise. (Ephesians 4:9) Judgment was already made, so Jesus simply fulfilled the judgment at this time. After that, paradise was either removed or remains empty since believers now are instantly in the presence of the Lord thanks to the work of Jesus.

  14. When we get to heaven I believe we will have dinner with Moses.Cool.

  15. They were saved as they didn't know who Jesus was yet, but they knew He was coming. As God promised. Their belief counted for righteousness as it did with Abraham..

  16. What I find amazing is that some people actually try to give a serious answer to this question. We're talking about myths, remember.

  17. They got wiped out after the big bang went boom.

  18. Jesus also preached to them when He descended to the dead.  Those who accepted Him were saved.  Christ' sacrifice covered all time
