What happends if i put a 3000 watt amp on my 2 10 kicker comps?

i want to know what will happend if i over power them ? they are 300 watts peak power but i have a 3000 watt amp what would happend?

  1. peak power means nothing. you need  RMS. you are just burning away money you don't need to. 3000watts is a bit of an over kill. again i would say that's just a peak power measure.

  4. I agree with inktown. You should never go over the rms of the sub or subs with the amp. Just match the rms of the subs to the amp at the right imdepence it requires.

  6. when you match subs and amps all you care about is the RMS wattage not the peak/max wattage and that's at a certain impedance (ohms)

    info needed to PROPERLY match amps and subs

    the subs voice coil setup (DVC or SVC)

    the subs impedance (ohms)

    the final impedance at the amp (how the subs are wired)

    the number of subs

    the subs RMS (continuous) wattage

    or

    the model numbers
