What happened In Taunton Mass (weather wise) on 08-04-08

yesterday I was babysitting 2 kids. when we were outside there was a strong wind and heavy rain.as soon as the wind started we all ran inside the house. did it have anything to do with a hurricane?

You did experience rain around 3:00 that day but it was just a passing rainstorm. It was not a hurricane. There are no tropical cyclones out in the Atlantic right now.

I don't believe so. I was in Walpole when it started to rain heavily. But that only lasted 10-15 minutes.

It was just a local rainstorm.  There were also thunderstorms in the area, but you may not have had one close enough to hear or see it.
