What happened at 10:39 am, Oct. 7, 2006?

There is an ad running on TV with several people saying they remember where they were at this time on this day in 2006. Does anyone know what the ad is for or what happened on this date? I was guessing a sports event, since no one in the ad seems upset or sad.

I dont' know.  What do you think happened?  I have seen a similar ad.  Next time I see it, I'll write it down.
