Something was wrong with Big Brown at the race. He couldn't race well. I think there is something internally wrong with the horse. Does anyone know what was wrong?

  1. Nothing has shown up on Big Brown.  He still is showing in good health with no signs of soreness.

It was just not his day. He did not want to run. It could have been a lot of things.  He could have been tired.  He could have been hot.  He probably did not like the track.  It was the softest I believe that he ever had run on.  And of course it could have been the fact that he had NOT received his monthly steroid shot ( had not had one since 4-15 )

  2. no they still don't know.  But don't ask his trainer Rick Dutrow.  He is pretty much blaming everyone and anything he can find.  Now he is blaming the jockey.  Man...he is a TOOL

  3. I saw the race live and I've seen it several times since on TV and the Internet.  I think it WAS the jockey's fault.  When you watch the race you can see Big Brown trying to go to the inside track, and the jockey, for some reason, wouldn't let him.  Instead he took Big Brown to the outside.....way outside.  You can see Big Brown fighting with the jockey for his head.  It's time jockey's realized that sometimes the horse knows best how to run and just let him.  Ron Turcotte knew this, and that's why him and Secretariat were such a great team.

  4. You'd think this horse was Pegasus the way people are freaking out over him losing a race.

A vet examined him and found no injuries, no illness, no soreness and no lameness.  They even scoped his insides and found nothing wrong.  In other words, he's fine.

Somebody has to lose every horse race that's run.  Big Brown lost this one and it doesn't mean there had to be something wrong with him.

  5. I heard a experienced horse person who watched the pre race coverage on TV . He said it look like big brown was having a temper tam prim . an after that he seamed to be sulking .

  6. Big Brown finally had some dirt kicked in his face and it seems like he threw a horse temper tantrum.  Take note of his last two races...he never had dirt in his face and never really had any trouble to speak of.  After the Preakness, his jockey noted that he tried to keep Big Brown out from the rail in an attempt to keep dirt from being thrown in his face since the horse had not experienced that before.  Thank goodness this horse didn't win the Crown, he was less than deserving and certainly not the same caliber as Seattle Slew and the others.  I mean...this horse never even had any decent competition until the Belmont where he just threw in the towel.
