They slept together recently. It was after he came to town but before he accepted that he was in love with Chelsea. He was fighting his feelings for her and he had already told her that nothing was going to happen between them.

Kate and Daniel slept together WHILE Chelsea was in recovery from the pancreas surgery.  Both of them knew Chelsea had a crush on Daniel at that time...but Daniel is a player and didn't really think things would happen between him and Chelsea then.  Kate also knew Chelsea like Daniel and slept with him anyhow...whose grandmother does that?!

All I know is they had an affair before Dr. Daniel Jonas started dating Chelsea. I'm pretty certain the show indicated they had a fling or past together many, many years ago. I don't know how close they were or if they were lovers but keep in mind that the character of Katherine Elizabeth "Kate" Roberts Brown Kiriakis Brady was a prostitute in her younger days. Chelsea recently found out about their past and is digusted he slept with her grandmother and has just broke up with Daniel over it.
