  1. No-one really knows except Charles & Diana themselves & possibly Camilla since she was part of the relationship even before Diana was.

  2. It appear they were never in love. At least Charles did not love Diana. It true love was Camilla, as we all can now see.  It is really sad that Diana was forced to live that life for so long.  Anyhow, Diana soften the face of royalty and the public loved her.  She was beautiful and stylish.  She also appeared down to earth.  I believe to that many felt for her because her husband loved another and they is why the media became so into her.

  3. they both had affairs, and the royal family didn't like her very much.

  4. Their marital problem started even before they got married. It appeared that Prince Charles was not in love with Diana, but with Camilla, however, due to his parents objections and the fact that he is getting pretty old, he was pressured into marrying the young virgin blonde.

The continued presence of Camilla after their marriage which  became intolerable to Diana. Allies of the Prince who spoke publicly against the Princess alleged that Diana was unstable and temperamental. One by one she apparently sacked each of the Prince of Wales's longstanding staff members and fell out with numerous friends and members of her family – her father, her mother, her brother, and The Duchess of York.

Diana suffered and battled with depression, anorexia and bulimia. There were rumours flying within their inner circle about the adulterous affair that Prince Charles was carrying on with Camilla, and eventually got out into the media world.

  5. Well... it all began with a stable and a horse... head;)

  6. Charles entered the marriage knowing that he'd eventually return to his long-time love, the then Camilla Parker Bowles.Diana entered the marriage with stars in her eyes and great hope in her heart;she'd had her eye on Charles for some time. Both entered the marriage expecting the other to be the "caregiver",the person who would fulfill the emotional needs. They also had little in commonly-held interests. But the press saw Diana, fell in love with her and pushed the Prince forward.Charles has said that he felt the pressure to marry, and that because the press was so intrusive and making Lady Diana Spencer's life difficult,he was forced to make the decision: ask her to marry him or let her go.Diana was the perfect Princess of Wales, unfortunately not the perfect wife for Charles, the man.

The press watched them constantly. Diana on the cover of a magazine guaranteed meg-sales of that issue,so pictures of Diana were lucrative. The press followed Diana and Charles about and noticed that over the years that the two really weren't the happy couple they portrayed themselves to be. Camilla was outed as the major cause, because Charles had returned to his mistress after a few years.Diana still tried to keep the marriage together until after Harry was born;then she started having affairs, but still hoped to reconcile.Their secret lives were exposed by the press. Then, Diana and Charles started to use the press to disparage the other. The unseemly tell-all sniping the two did got to be overwhelming and damaging to the popularity of the monarchy. The Princess of Wales was seen as the victicm of the cruel, heartless Prince of Wales. The only other royals who were seen in a positive light were The Queen Mother and The Queen.

  7. I got the feeling that the rest of the Royals didn't like her.  She was outspoken and attractive which the media loved but which embarrased the Royal Family, apparently.

In the long run, who knows? Maybe he just wanted to have a baby with her because she had the right genes. I think she was related to royalty or power even though she was "just" a teacher.

There are so many bizarre theories about their relationship.
