  1. Yea that's it. The American people wanted Gore for president and Bush won anyway.  Horseshit in my opinion.

  2. Popular sovereignty s**t its pants in 2000.

  3. Yes

  4. The whole story of the 2000 election happened in the SCOTUS. By using a huge stretch of a 14th amendment issue they were desperate to settle this before the votes were ever counted---the irony is that the 14th amendment was never properly ratified.

  5. That is it exactly. Whether anyone likes it or not. The founding fathers set it up that way and it has worked ever since. It wasn't the first it happened and probably won't be the last. Al Gore is a cry baby that couldn't stand the thought of losing.

  6. That's it.

  7. during the 2000 US.presidential elections,Bush narrowly won with 271 to Gore's 266.but there was a contreversy over who won Florida's 25 electoral votes, the recount process in that state, and the issue of the popular vote. but In the American system of presidential elections, only  the electoral vote system determines the winner and Bush won this count, although Gore received more popular votes.

  8. The wisdom of the founding fathers and the beauty of the electoral college system going to work for the salvation of America.

  9. Yes.  It can happen when a candidate doesn't win the majority in as many states as the other, but in the ones he does win, he wins by a larger margin.  It's not the first time we've had a president win the election without winning the popular vote.

  10. George Bush's younger brother was Governor of the key state of Florida.
