  1. Jim Crow laws were not laws that could be broken. They were laws tha segregated blacks from the whites. Such as a white nurse had no obligation to tend to a black patient; she could tend to them out of kindness, but only black nurses had to tend to black patients; which was totally unfair because there were very little black doctors and nurses.  There certain regulations on a black man voting. If he than attempted to vote anyhow, I don't think his vote would count.

  2. Get tossed off the train.  Depending on the mood of the person enforcing it could've been whilst it was moving.

  3. By law they could be arrested and serve long years of hard labor, that is if they were lucky. People very often took their  view of  justice in their own hands there were many hangings, beatings and  fires of crops and houses. The laws did not protect them. Jim Crow was basically similar to slavery. This wasen't really that long ago.

  4. If they were white, not much happened to them.  If they were black, they were formally charged, arrested and punished with the full severity of the law.  Informally, black men were also beaten and murdered before and after the law had taken its course.  Being in jail, so far from being kept safe, was especially dangerous for black men, as it was a convenient place for lynch mobs to get at them.

  5. Jim Crow would get upset.
