What happened if you marry another without annulling your first marriage?

My friend who is also a filipina, got marriage here in the philippines, then without filing annualment, she got married again to a korean. What will happen in her case?

  1. Kung wala mkkalam ok  lng..pero kung nagaapply s mga bagay n kelangan ng mg marriage thing(certificates etc.) Problema yan..Kelangan mg ppaannull para iwas problema in d future.. :)


  2. I'm not a 100% sure about the laws in the philippines, but I would think that her second marriage would be void, because she would still have to successfully end the first marriage. But I think it may be best for her to talk to a lawyer.

  3. the second marriage is void, unless there are laws stating you can have multiple spouses there, or flip side some places she could face prison for that, i would start looking up the laws for both countries


  4. Its crazy she has committed bigamy.

    My friend married in the Philippines and all of her family were there, then he had a church blessing over here for his family and friends.

    The marriage is binding in Phils and your friend did wrong in marrying again.

    Sort it out.

  5. It depends upon what the law about this is in the Philippines.  If this happened in the United States this would be bigamy which is a crime in our country.
