I live in China, and was watching the 'live feed' on my Chinese station. Though the announcers are speaking in Chinese. Brandt Snedeker was on the 15th or 16th hole...not sure, and the coverage showed that a rules official was talking to Snedekar concerning something on the green and maybe his coin placement(not sure)..and also playing partner, Brandt Jobe joined the discussion....what was it all about? was their a rules infraction?

  1. Yes, when he wanted to mark the ball, the marker dropped on the ball and it moved. He had to replace it and incurred a one stroke penalty.

    Golf has so many rules!

  2. Brandt went to mark his ball and dropped the quarter on the ball and the ball moved. He had to replace his ball and was charged a 1 stroke penalty.

  3. Interestingly enough this one shot penalty cost him about $60,000 in prize money!

  4. He was assessed a penalty because as he was marking his ball on the 15th hole(I believe) his ball marker fell out of his pocket and struck the ball.  It's one of those obscure rules.
