  1. well many reasons maybe they just couldnt get the car right since it has been a pretty bad straight to the weekend (1st practice was rained out) so if they were one of the first people to go out in qualifying they did have a fairly green track (though nationwide qualified before them)... junior could have just had a better car... maybe jeff and jimmie want to start in the back to be able to assess what they could do late in the race (you know make some friends who will help push them to a win)... and to everyone saying that junior is getting better cars and what not if it was the other way around everyone would either say nothing or be mad because hendricks is protecting his golden boy... maybe junior is just having a better year and i can almost gurantee you to a certain degress that junior is getting somewhat better equipment to help transition him to hms, be honest how many of you thought junior wouldn't even be top 10 in points after the switch? i remember the polls via nascar.com and foxsports.com and over 70% thought junior wouldn't be a contender for the title, so hendricks maybe giving him cars to help him with the transition and until jimmie or jeff complain leave it alone and enjoy the racing we are blessed with each week

  2. to many roosters in the hen house!

  3. He is getting the best equipment at Hendrick while his teammates were left out to dry this season to make room for Jr. Remember last season Johnson and Gordon were 1-2 in points this time, but now that Jr. is the number 1 priority I see Hendrick continuing to struggle.

  4. He's driving Jeff Gordon's car, they repainted it "88".

  5. Why is Jr. 3rd and why is Mears not even in the top 20?

It's not always about the equipment. Sometimes drivers just have some bad sessions, whether it be qualifying, practice, or a race.

  6. I smell a pecking order. 88 gets the best equipment, 24 and 48 get mediocre equipment, and Casey is, as always, screwed over with the R&D cars.

  7. Maybe they don't have the equipment Jr. does.   Something is not right at HMS.  The #24 and #48 look real weak this year.

  8. cause he knows how to drive!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  9. qualifying aint all that big of a thing. Qualifying is not a good source of information on how the race will be.

  10. I heard that Jeff Gordon's team took a little speed out of the car so it would draft better in the race, so maybe Jimmie Johnson's team did the same thing and Jr.'s team didn't.

  11. Maybe because Jr. has a better car than his teammates..
