  1. Here is the full text.

I'll assume you've read the other 20 chapters or at least seen the movie.

  2. y

  3. the original ending actually had Alex reforming on his own. He realized how juvenile and chaotic the life he was leading was and saw how past members of his gang (George is married happily) have grown up and left behind the violence and reckless abandon. Unlike the movie where it is insinuated that he will go back to his ways, the book has him ultimately reforming. It must be noted that Burgess's original ending was not included in the original publications of the book. It was added on in recent editions.

  4. The Movie:

He hasn't changed his ways at all.

    The Book:

    He does.

    :)

  5. Sorry...I only watch movies, too.  I hate to read.

  6. I never read the book, but I loved the movie.

  7. There was a final chapter that was cut from the inital US release of the book.

In it, Alex has a new gang (he is still the leader but he is the oldest instead of the youngest).  However, he has grown increasingly annoyed with them.  One of them finds a picture he cut out of a magazine of a baby in his wallet - he doesn't even know why he has it, something about the photo just struck him so he kept it.

He bumps into one of his old friends who now has a job and a wife and realizes that maybe the time has come for him to give up the ultraviolence and settle down himself.

  8. In the book : Alex see's his old friend Pete with a girlfriend, grown up and not in gangs anymore. and decides to follow that route, therfore giving up " ultra violence and rape".

In the film : its made out as though he is going to fool the system and continue with his old ways.

This different ending, was a choice made by Stanley Kubrick, for American audiences.

    hope this helps.

  9. The movie is one of my absolute favorites. I've seen it many times, but I've only read the book once.

The author, Anthony Burgess, hated the movie. The book has 21 chapters, which he felt represented adulthood. He was completely displeased with Stanley Kubrick's adaption of the film.

  10. In the end of the movie he dances with that one girl naked and says "I'm back". So he goes back to his old ways and that's it.

In the book he goes back to his old ways with a new crew and then starts to think about all the things he has done, and starts to kinda turn into a better person.

  11. Wow what a strange movie. I have seen it a long time ago. I never read the book but i saw the movie, and this movie was very strange.
