What happened to 97.5 cumbias y mas radio station in Los Angeles?

The radio station all of a sudden came off air and another radio station came on with out any explination. The new station is called Jose.

Yup, they flipped on May 5. Rarely are these things ever pre-announced or explained. But the explanation is always - it wasn't working. Meaning not enough ratings; meaning not enough money being made.

From cumbia (Mexican adaptation of tropical music) to Spanish adult hits with no DJs (similar to Recuerdo without personalities). The station is owned by Entravision - and has been for quite a while. A format flip does not always mean new owners.
