What happened to Belle and Shawn on Days of Our Lives?

Why aren't they on the show anymore, I know characters sometimes disappear from the show and return later but what was there excuse and when did they leave. Last I remember, Shawn found out Claire was his baby and he and Belle were running from Philip who didn't want to let her go, then fast forward, they're all kinda in her life and Belle slept with Philip and Shawn wants a divorce. The I turned on the tv the other day and Belle, Shawn, and Claire aren't on the show. Did the reconcile, breakup, who has custody of Claire?

Shawn, Belle, and their daughter, Claire, all left Salem to get away from Philip. But don't worry, Shawn's sister Chelsea is still on the show.

Shawn & Belle got married & went sailing around the world with their daughter, Claire.... just like Bo & Hope did with Shawn D nearly 20 years ago.

Repeat storyline of Shawn's parents. Reconcile, sail around the world, live a fab life, blah blah blah. However, does anyone ever wonder how the writers can justify how they are able to pay for this when neither one of them had a job?
