Charles Lindbergh's son Charles jr. was kidnapped from his nursery in 1932. There was a bunch of suspects, and one of them, Bruno Hauptmann was locked up in jail and eventually was killed in the electrical chair years later. He pleaded innocent. What happened to Charles Jr., and who kidnapped him in the first place?

  1. The child was murdered and Hauptmann was a likely suspect and almost assurredly the murderer.  He had access to the family estate, but then so did others.  You can Google this as I am now since I realize I have forgotten much.  Books have been written and movies made and it is "in" to believe that Hauptmann was innocent.  He may have been but he was a bit looney and did too much talking as I recall.  Since it was Lindberg's baby the government and press latched onto any one labeled the murderer.  Lindberg was royalty in this country back then.  Only recently have we learned that Lindy seemed to have a girl in every port in the world while his devoted wife and child waited at home.
