What happened to Connor on Neighbours?

Last we knew he'd gone missing and there were traces of him in China but was there ever anything definite? Or will he one day return (fingers crossed)?

He told his friend he was going to go overseas, but then the last we saw of him was Robert Robinson inviting him in for a drink and then driving away with Connor's body obviously in the back of the vehicle.

But Connor isn't dead. He sent Toadie and friends some presents on St. Patrick's Day. =]
