One of the players in history that has always intrigued me was Jimmie Foxx, who played between the Red Sox and A's during the 20's and 30's.
2600 hits, 534 HR (youngest to 500 at the time), and 1900 Rbi's...325 avg.
Thing is his numbers could have been even more.
At 32 he hit. .300 with 36 HR's and 120 Rbi..Basically 12 straight years of scary stats. Yet by 34 years old he was done.
What happened to his career??
If he would have continued to put up good numbers until he was 37-38 (like alot of HOFers) he would have challenged 700hrs, 2200Rbi, 3000hits
Heard rumors of alcoholism or health issues..Was just wondering what the true story was.
