On August 27, 2008 Foley agreed to a TNA contract after his WWE contract expires September 1st.

According to sources, Mick Foley told the Long Island Press that the announcing job wasn't working too well for him, creatively, & that he is letting his contract with the WWE run out at the end of this month. After when his contract ends with the WWE, he will join TNA Wrestling as an active wrestler, but will work on a limited schedule, similar to Sting's current schedule. Foley stated that he will help make TNA successful & to help make it a competition for the WWE, stating that "it's good for business." As of August 25th, today, his profile remains on the WWE website.
