I heard a little about it this morning but after that all I've heard about is Gov. Palin, wasn't this supposed to be Obama's day in the sun?

  1. Barack who??? oh yeah, Obama...yeah, he looks pretty lame and business as usual in washington with that Biden pick now...I LOVE MCCAINS PICK!!!

  2. It's been temporarily hijacked by the woman who's essentially castrated McCain's presidential campaign.

Look for the "bounce" in the next couple of polls.

  3. Obama's day was Thursday (hype and fireworks). Today's day was McCain and Palin's.

She cut taxes in Alaska, dismissed that funding

the Democrats wanted for the "bridge to no-

where", she's balanced the budget, and wants

to cut earmarks in Congress (yeh...finally). That

sounds like something we all want in this Nation.

  4. It was heard by 38 million Americans, according to the news. And a great speech it was. After last night, Obama doesn't have a care in the world. Palin will go away after the convention.

  5. It was as memorable as watching air leave a balloon.

  6. It was great! Actually, it was remarkable. It was not a liberal speech it was a unifying speech. This is the best speech I have ever had the opportunity to see live. He had his big night w/38 million viewers watching and 84,000 in the stands. This speech will not be forgotten. McCain was very strategic in picking a VP the next day, but the talking near the water coolers is all about Obama.

  7. It's obvious why McCain chose his announcement when he did. But Obama's speech did not really cover anything new and all of its tenets will come alive during the debates.

  8. This should have been Obamas LONG weekend in the sun on the news cycle.

That old crafty ("senile, McSame, McLame...etc") politician smoked the Dems and put Obama on page 10 in the birdcage liner Gazette with this BRILLIANT move.

He beat them at their own game and the Dems are howling about it.

    Sucks to be them.

  9. Really?  I saw tons of reports talking about the speech and how well received it was.

Of course the weekend will be spent digging the dirt on Palin.  She's made a few loose remarks in her short career.  Lets start with her saying Sen. Clinton was "whining too much" during the primary season.

  10. Obama's rehashed speech is old news.

You know how fast the world changes these days.

  11. Believe me he doesn't need a day in the sun the guy is he sun. He is magnificent. No one minds the day being spent on Palin. Carville just mentioned the women is a Buchanan conservative. He said Hillary had 18 million voters & Palin won't get 18 of them cause they are not Buchanan types. I was in a restaurant today talking to a couple in there 70's & the man told me he cried when he saw Obama's family they are so beautiful. You don't have a clue as to what you missed but we can't have good in our life til we are ready for it.

  12. yeah, it was.

  13. that's why mccain is such a wolf in sheep clothing, he knew by picking this day it would take take the spotlight from the democrats, then more coverage as the rnc begins monday.

  14. I didnt bother to watch, i already know enough about him to NOT vote for him.

  15. You have no idea what took place at the Democratic Convention.. 80,000 people heard a man define himself and his politics PLUS what he will do if elected.. The TOTAL unification of the Democratic party last night will reverberate from now to election day.. And the unity will spread through the message spreaders across this nation.. No more will Democrats  vote Republican because NOW they have been shown thru the eight years of the Bush Administration with McCain with Bush 95 percent of the time..As has stated the economy and the war and the status of the United States is Fine.. Maybe for a man with eight houses it is,,  but the wool won't be pulled over the eyes anymore of the meekest ''SHEEPLE"!!  So you have no idea what the seeds of that speech  will wrought !!  Watch,,see and learn...The war against the working class is about to end..The working class has suffered for more than 30years at the hands of Republicans !! Their end is near !!L  H

  16. What sqeek?

  17. Obama who?

  18. All I remember is Obama's speech - he's going to be president.  And in a couple years nobody will remember McCain or whoever he picks as his losing mate.

  19. i watched obama bin bidens speech last night and had to eat an entire loaf of bread to settle my stomach

  20. Obviously the Speech that was not written by Obama - was not GREAT.

Truthfully, I am getting really bored by this Goofy Obama, who never served in the Military,

  21. No, this was a day to shine a light on republican incompetance and inexperience.

  22. You're not as subtle as you think.

  23. no his speech was last night it was great sorry you missed it

  24. It was past tense, the only thing I remember about it was the firework show

    McCain and Palin in 08

  25. what speech?  Bye, Bye Obamania. Hello Saramania!!

  26. Nelson ratings indicated that over 38 million views watched Obama Acceptance Speech last night. That tops more people who watched the Opening Ceremonies of the Olympic Games, American Idol, and the Academy Awards Show. McCain's announcement of the his running mate was expected. However; historians will deem Obama speech as merit with the likes of JFK in Berlin, Dr King's "I have a Dream"; and Winston Churchil

    As stated by Progessive

Actually they are actually already rating it, they are saying it was no where near the caliber of the former.

He just went over stuff and said stuff like this...

"John McCain said he would follow Osama Bin Laden to the Gates of h**l, yet he won't even follow him to his cave in Afghanistan."

"I will give tax breaks to 95% of Americans"

He also went on to say he will put in place Socialized healthcare, what does he intend to do for taxes, tax the upper class with a 85% goods tax? Anything they buy they have to pay an extra 85%?

I don't have the direct quote for the ladder comment but, the Osama Bin Laden thing was problably highlight of the night.

IF YOU KNOW WHAT CAVE HE IS IN AND YOU KNOW HE IS IN AFGHANISTAN, Why don't you tell us barack? lmao.

  28. That is why McCain picked today to announce his running mate.

he knew that it would cut into the time people would use to talk about Obama and increase the amount of time people will talk about him.

  29. yes it was...that is why mccain made his announcement today it took the sail right out of obama historic moment. but that is how the news works. who ever has the better story gets the spot light. pretty smart on mccains part.

  30. Front page, today's paper.  Sarah came along too late for the presses, but I guess 'news' is just TV and blogs these days.
