What happened to Pudge?

I just tune into the game on YES and i wanted to see who was in the lineup so i looked online and it says Molina is a pinch hitter.

What happed to pudge?

there was a base hit to RF and Abreu threw home, up the 3rd base line a little and Pudge was hit almost as soon as he caught it so he couldn't brace for a collision with David Murphey. Their knees hit, Murphey was ok, but Pudge is an old catcher and knees are usually weak points on them.

He was due up to bat 2nd in the inning and Jose Molina was used to pinch hit for him.

there was a play at the plate and the runner charged and pumped knees looked bad but should be ok

Pudge got pinched hit for, being an aging catcher isn't easy. That's why that most catchers switch every so often.
