Ok. I have never been into Batman but my hubby has a crapload of Batman movies. I ask what happened to Robin because when I was a kid I remembered it as Batman and Robin... But there is no Robin in these...

  1. He left Batman behind and moved on to have his own career in Crime Fighting

  2. In the mythology, the ORIGINAL became Nightwing and fought crime on his own.

Other Robins didn;t make it and when batman went to a female Robin, she was killed

  3. In earlier screen versions, Robin is the sidekick you remember.

In the 1966 movie based on the TV show (and in the 1943 serial), Batman and Robin are presented as a fully-formed team.

In the 1989 Tim Burton BATMAN movie & 1992 BATMAN RETURNS sequel, Batman was a loner.  Robin was introduced in BATMAN FOREVER and repeated in BATMAN & ROBIN (naturally).

In the current series (BATMAN BEGINS and THE DARK KNIGHT), Batman is a loner again.

Essentially what has happened is that every producer, director, and/or screenwriter who gets their hands on the character has a different take on Batman.  The "darker" takes don't use Robin.

  4. Christopher Nolan (director of The Dark Knight) rebooted (restarted) the franchise and is excluding Robin from the series.  The old movies have nothing to do with Batman Begins or The Dark Knight

  5. These new movies are BEFORE Robin. This is the ORIGIN of Batman, and when he started Robin wasn't around. As I understand it they have no intention of bringing Robin in to this Franchise either. Probably because Robin tended up making Batman look g*y or something.

  6. the driector christopher nolan said he does not want and will not have robin in these movies...he is quoted as saying robin is in a crib somewhere.

  7. He's only in some of the movies.

  8. There have been 3 Robins

d**k Grayson, who later left to become his own superhero, Nightwing.

Jason Todd, who was killed by the joker (fans voted him out of the series)

Tim Drake, who is robin at the moment in the comics...

As someone said, the movies show sort of a timeline of Batman.

Batman Begins and the Dark Knight are about Batman starting out, his origins.

In Batman Forever we meet d**k Grayson (Chris O'Donnell) so we see how the first Robin came about.

So far in the movies we have only seen the first Robin.

So yes, there is a Robin, but he kinda comes and goes depending on the people playing him.
