What happened to Stephen Colbert's foot?

The other night on his show, they showed him with a walking cast on his left foot. His voice is also raspy, but I'm guessing that's just from sickness. Does anyone know?

  1. He was attacked by bears on his nightly jog. The injuries sustained were not serious. His ankle was broken when he kicked his attacker in the head, and his voice is raspy from shouting repeatedly "I'm the wrong guy buddy!"


  2. He probably bit it as he was trying to extract it from his mouth.
