What happened to all the free chat rooms that were on yahoo????

yahoo at one time or another had chat rooms(i.e. romance). click on romance and pick a room to which you would like to speak with others. Communicate if you will...

Yahoo chat rooms are still available. The only chat rooms missing from Yahoo chat are the user-created chat rooms. They still have romance rooms and this is proof http://freechatrooms.blogspot.com/2008/0...

The Yahoo chat rooms may not be exactly how they used to be in earlier years  but they are still available for Yahoo users to use and they are still free as well.

First don't panic then know a few facts about Yahoo chat and Yahoo messenger:

1- You need Yahoo messenger to enter Yahoo chat, the web version of Yahoo chat is no longer available.

2- The Vista version of Yahoo messenger does not support chat rooms.

3- Users under 18 are not allowed in Yahoo chat rooms.

4- Older versions of Yahoo messenger  (up to version 6 I think) can't access Yahoo chat.

Now if you are using version 8 or 9 of Yahoo messenger and still can't find the chat rooms, rest assured they are still there. You need to go in the menu and find Messenger>Yahoo! Chat>Join a Room and you'll be on your way to hours of fun chat!
