Now we have to be careful not to offend anyone. I'm entitled to speek my mind no matter who gets offended. Why are folks so sensitive now days? We can't have freedom of speech and have to sugar coat everything thats said.

  1. Of course you are free say whatever you want. And so are other people, even when they tell you that you are wrong. Freedom goes both ways, doesn't it?

And yes, people offend people because they do not know how to express themselves in a polite and skillful way with the objective of  adding something. Hate speech is only that, empty words full of poisoned hate which do not help with anything.

  2. I think we quit expecting it of ourselves, and started caving in to fear about speaking our own truths.

I'm very aware that as a state worker, I can't have bumper stickers which oppose the Governor on my car.  It isn't illegal, or even unethical, in a community which truly values free speech.  But, it's practical, because jobs are lost as a result of not supporting him publicly.

We ought to think nothing o f putting a political sign in our yard, or on our car, or reciting poetry of any sort from our front porch, listen to any kind of music which doesn't affect anyone.

What about church bells?  Does that infringe on my freedom?  I didn't think anything about it until I compared it to Islamic prayers,...would I want them to be quiet in my neighborhood, where I might think church bells are quaint, charming,...  I wonder how into free speech i really am?  Would I cave in, if i didn't like the message?

  3. You can say whatever you want as long as it's against whites, Christian's or men.  Other than that you can't say a thing.

  4.      Freedom of speech stopped when you joined yahoo answers...

  5. There is still free speech in this country and you mat say anything you like to anyone.  There is no guarantee that you will not offend someone however.

  6. The Politically Correct crowd want it two ways. Way number one is if you are in their crowd then anything you say about those who do not agree with them is OK. Way number two is if you oppose them then anything you say is hate speech.

That is the ultra-liberal attitude and it is pure and simple Liberal Fascism!

  7. It's called political correctness.

    The cancer of a republic.

  8. I think most people are wise enough to walk away and not sue if they see something that bothers them. There's just a few ding-alings who have to go make a big stink out of something and it gets on the news. Then everyone hears about it and thinks, "Omigosh. It's not safe to talk freely anymore."

  9. "The 1st Amendment was written to protect the speech we hate.

There is no need to protect the speech we love." James Madison

  10. With any right or freedom comes a responsibility.  The responsibilities with freedom of speech are many - you have the responsibility to not endanger with your speech (the old shouting "fire!" in a crowded theater), you have the responsibility to tell the truth, and you have the responsibility to deal with the fact that many people won't like what you have to say.

  11. you can say anything you choose as long as it agrees with whatever the other people believe. you can say whatever you choose as long as you are not in any way voicing your opinions on ya site, violations, or anything that they have done. (they are deleting questions for anything that might be negative). don't disagree with Christians, don't talk about politics,  do NOT mention immigration.. you can talk about anything else you want. LOL

  12. Power Of Persuasion not put to use so  much as calling someone an idiot which is not a good argument You know people have said things like ''Go jump in a lake.''  Another thing they say are things like Idiot Savant.  What has happened is people decide what will offend other people rather than leave it up to the people. Documentaries on Stupidity are popular so this is where freedom of speech  has gone.
