What happened to getting a good job and planning for a family?

it makes me so irritated that people do this, why is it that these days no one seems to plan for a family, no one wants to get a good education, a nice job and then settle down for kids?

Why is that the question I think you should be asking why do people have kids who have no love in their hearts?

I got pregnant with no job and not finished with my high school education. After I had my son I finished high school and am now enrolled in college. I have no job but am trying very hard to get one. What did you want me to get an abortion because I wasnt finished with school. That is selfish I created that life and I am taking care of him.

The Lady in that question should not have had kids though I agree. But she should have given them to her family or someone else.

Wow.....thats a really sad story. I feel sorry for those twins too. Back to your question though....I think you need to understand that not all unplanned pregnancies result in situations like this. In fact, I'm willing to bet majority don't! It does irritate me also. I think it's horrible. Lets hope she makes the right decision and doesn't continue to breed in the future. Thats all anyone can do!

Well, I couldn't read that question, too many abbreviations etc.  To answer your question, we live in a society that is all about instant gratification.  Nobody waits for anything anymore.  Why do you think there's so much credit card debt?  So many unwed mothers?  If people can't get it NOW then they simply borrow to get it NOW or move on to something else to get instant gratification.  Planning, saving, goals....it seems few and far between.

And to directly dispute Babs, spanking doesn't mean you have control of your kids.  We believe in spanking and that didn't stop my 16 year old stepdaughter from being out of control and getting pregnant.

Good question...i think most people deep inside wish to plan their lives, but since our society offers so many things,and it's full of tricks and illusions, and persuade us to make bad choices that lead to very bad consequences, what people first wished turns  into  "a past dream" and reality turns to be much harder to handle.Disillusions my friend, that's what it is!

Because you can go to college for 4 or more years and think you have a great job and buy the perfect house and marry the perfect person and then go to have a baby and everything go down hill fast.  Jobs aren't secure anymore, college doesn't promise you that you will have a job, houses get forclosed on or diseasters happen.  Things happen so you could spend your entire life waiting for the perfect time to start a family and it may never come, or it may come and then go before you know it.

Ok think about this.....

Back in the day...children respected there parents...

Parents had control of there children.....

Spanking was used and wasn't frowned upon....

Now it's all this "don't spank your kids" c**p....

and look where it lead us....kids are just plain and simple out of control....the children run the house....

And now 1 in 5 teenage girls is pregnant before there 16 years old......

Education is expensive.

People don't have the education in the first place. They live in poor neighborhoods, have a bad upbringing, or just make bad choices.

Our society is messed up.

People are breeding who should never be parents!

Nice jobs are hard to get... and even the ones that used to be nice, well they don't get credit anymore. Everything is about big buisness and how much money the big guys can get and how little they can pay the little guys.

and lets not forget about the people who are still guided by their religion, which has not changed to fit the changing society. So there are people who still don't believe in birth control, so they end up with too many children. They can't afford to send their kids to college and the kids can't get help either.

Have you ever seen the movie Idiocracy? It's kind of funny in a way... It's what happens when all the stupid people get together.

Anyway, I could go on and on forever about this. Just remember though, no matter how much you prepare, you can never be prepared enough.
