What happened to grasshopper, the horse that almost beat street sense?

Seems like if he was rapidly improving, he would be pointed towards the BC something or other.

Grasshopper ran a decent race in the Super Derby, but just couldn't hold off the more experienced Going Ballistic.  Here's a link to the race page where you can watch a video of the race: http://www.ntra.com/races.aspx?section=r...

After that race, they decided to give Grasshopper the rest of the year off.  He'll be back next year, well rested and more developed.

He was made the odds-on favorite in the Super Derby in his next race.

I cannot believe that all the "experts" jumped on the Grasshopper bandwagon, saying that he was deserving to be a heavy favorite.

Grasshopper clearly got brave when Street Sense came up to him, and he could be game because he was loose on the lead the entire race.  A lot of horses can look good in that situation, and they don't need to be "almost as good as Street Sense" to do it.

Anyway, I was glad for it, cause I got to bet on Going Ballistic at 8 to 1.

He has not run since, and he was not pre-entered into any of the Breeders' Cup Races.
