i know kyle was, shall we say, less than happy after slapping the wall twice during his hot laps and his heat, but even though he thought there was no way they could fix the damage he had done to that right front, he hung out and was beating out the back end damage himself. and he was pretty friendly and happy by the time they re-interviewed before the feature started, and even smiling while running back up through the field toward the end.

but kasey i was surprised at. did i miss something? i was watching and i know he had nothing but engine problems until right before the feature, then his practice laps sounded good. next thing i know, like 10 laps or so in, he's storming off the track and into his trailer with the announcers saying his car was hot, and DW piping in that probably not as hot as kasey was. he never came out for an interview or anything, did he? what happened to him and his car? was it the engine again or did he get into it with someone?

  1. he had a real bad night, car would not run, then gas tank problems then overheating, frustration was his I guess but Kyle had a tough one last night and he never showed his anger...

  2. I know of a driver who when he storms off like that he gets an all out crucifixion and is called a classless lowlife, won't name names, and that's all I'm going to say.

  3. Here is what I heard on the TV:

Mike Joy: Ahh, Kasey Kahne climbing out (I noticed smoke coming from his hood and people had it lifted)

*He gets out takes off his gloves and walks into the hauler

Darrell Waltrip: He's not happy...car wouldn't half run all night long

Mike: Kasey was in 15th...pulls in after 9 laps complete

Darrell: Looked like it may have gotten hot this time

Kyle Petty: But, he never got any laps on the racetrack so how do you know what it's going to do. Feel bad for him and feel bad for those guys...appreciate him coming and doing this

Darrell: I don't think the car was any hotter than he was

So after listening to that it just sounds like his car was overheating.

  4. Kyle Busch was a gentleman all night. His car was covered in mud. His visor would be caked in mud two seconds after he'd pull one of the tear offs. And yet it had a hammer out helping pound out some of the dings in the car and he had a smile on his face all night. I found him to be pleasant and focused. Kasey Kahne had a frustrating night and he let it get to him. That was too bad. He was the only one I saw that seemed to be letting the little mishaps get to him.

  5. Right on ma. Kasey is the bomb but Kyle is monitored 24/7 while people wait to pounce at any invunerability
