What happened to lemony snicket's beatrice person?

i am reading the series of unfortunate events. i am on the eighth, in case you didn't know, that is The Hostile Hospital. he keeps talking about his "dear beatrice". what is this about?

Beatrice was supposed to marry Lemony. Then Lemony got accused for a fire. So Beatrice married Bauledaire and had Sunny, Klaus and Violet. Then Beatrice and her husband died. So Lemony wrote the serie about her children. So the people in the book was true!!! But probably not Count Olaf. I love that serie!
