i went last sunday and it's so ghetto. tarts with short shorts and high heels. my three year old waved to folks on the jet stream and got flipped off. by a twenty something cholo. so many trashy people and low low rent attitudes. one lady shoved her little ones to the front of the line and i told her she would need to wait. she was mad and said, gee, they're only kids. so is mine!

it isn't like this at sea world or disneyland. the problem is, i bought the stinkin' passport. i thought to stay away, but my boy is so excited about the thomas the tank engine area coming soon. when did this vibe happen?

  1. oh trust me its there. You went on good days is all!  I went to Legoland and that day was tramps and gangs aplenty!  You are noticing more since your a mom and me too. I wouldn't have cared 10 yrs ago and wouldn't have noticed them.  Just ignore them and don't worry, your little one won't notice. Let him enjoy being a kid!  My 10 yr old is starting to notice and I have to start explaining about these types. its hard but we'll survive!

    good luck momma!

  2. I always thought Magic Mountain was more teen/adult oriented, especially with all the rides they have there. More about high rides and thrills...

Sea World and Disneyland is a lot more family oriented, so its likely less people like you explained will be there. =D

  3. i work at magic mountain, and on behalf of magic mountain, i apologize for this. over the years we have been trying to make this park a more family oriented park, as it was intended back in the 60's. We have actually made progress in trying to make it more family friendly, we have locked down on graffitti and gang related issues. I guess we all have to understand that Los Angeles, the gang capital of the world, is just some 30 miles south of Valencia, and we cannot discriminate agaisnt people. We simply cannot tell them that they cannot enter our park just because they look like a gangster. We also don't have all the manpower, no budget to walk around telling people how to behave.

Speaking of behaving, if someone flips your little one off when he waves, then that person should seriously get a realitiy check and grow up.

but i'm sorry for the mis-hap, but if you went on a good day, you would see our park as a nice park. =]

  4. Six Flags is currently going through a huge overhaul on just about all their parks and trying to make them more family friendly.

This includes adding more kiddie areas (like Thomas Town and Wiggles World) and getting ride of rides that are un-popular and high maintenance.

Give it some time and more families will be in the parks.  The past owners built Magic Mountain up as a pure thrills capital that teens would flock to.  Once all the revamps and kiddie areas are added you'll see some better people there.

If it's any consolation, the park is actually a lot better than it was only a few years ago.
