What happened to midnight sun????

Question

wtf?? what the heck happened to midnight sun? is stephenie not writing it anymore or what? what she wrote on her website is a bit confusing....

can someone dumb it down for me??

Yep, that's what she wrote. Basically it means that she's too angry at her rabid fans for sharing the first 12 chapters of Midnight Sun and she's teaching those fans a lesson by putting Midnight Sun on hold. She claims she's too upset at what had happened to continue working on the book.

So yeah, that's what happened. I'm kinda disappointed...

It'd on hold "indefinitely" meaning only she knows how long she is going to take writing it, if she decides to finish it.

I truly do not believe Stephenie would just not write it. It means too much, to too many of us. She knows some of us respect her too much to read leaked materials, so for those of us that didn't read it, we are still looking forward to it.

If you want, the first 12 chapters are up on her website. I won't be reading it unless she decides to just not publish the book altogether, which I doubt.

It's on hold indefinitely, meaning there's no exact time as to how long it will be on hold for. She even has no clue (so she wants us to believe) when she will (if she does) continue on with the book.

everyones saying shes stoped writing it

shes has for a while but shes going to come back to it

she said she wants to spend some time with her family and get back in a nice mood

because it said on her site that if she carrie don writing it now then because shes mad because some one posted it on the internet, then shell just kill all the cullens

and she dosnt want to do that so shes taking a break and comeing back to it in a couple of motnhs

so wel just have to wait a abit longer

Basically, she sent out a few manuscripts of Midnight Sun and someone jacked one and released the first 12 chapters on the internet illegally (unlike the trademarked pages on her website). Though, Stephenie Meyer is confident that the leak was done unintentionally and not maliciously, she decided to halt the completion of MS and it was it's publication indefinitely. Some people have viewed this as a publicity stunt, while others are just surprised and disappointed. Personally, I feel that she has every right to feel disillusioned and I hope that she will finish Midnight Sun (Edward's voice is by far the most interesting and introspective). But, I would understand her intentions if she chose not to or chose a different route for her characters. Honestly, I think that SM just needs time to take a step back, take care of her babies and gain some of her own  introspection before she revisits Forks---it could only make the storyline stronger!
