What happened to my bird?

Question

So I went outside this morning and my pet bird(it's a quail)was acting really weird.He was limping and found it very hard to get up.So just a few minutes ago I went outside and he was laying up against the side.This is really sad for me to say but his head was off and we couldn't find it anywhere.So I ran in side and I just want to know what happened to him!!Could somebody please help me!!!!???

Probably a cat or a fox got to it.

a fox or Opposum. or anything in that nature. i would know because the same thing happened to me with 3 of my chickens. but when i found them they were all dead.

oh man thats freaky...i'd say probably a cat or dog bit its head off

Well if your bird is closed into a pen where no other animals could get to it, then no telling what happened, otherwise I would think it was a cat or most likely a dog bit it off. A Cat would take the entire body and run away with it, but a dog may bite it off and leave the body if the head and blood didn't taste good enough for it to eat the bird. the poor baby.

that's scary....and an unusual way to die. Maybe something attacked him before you came outside, that's why he was limping.His head was off????was his head off before you came outside!!im sooo sorry that happened

I'm so sorry- but when he was limping around you should have brought him in the house and examined him-- took him to a vet even-- obviously some animal outside had attacked him and in the interim came back and finished him off.....I wouldn't get another bird to keep outside- you obviously live where there are predators that can break into your property....sorry for your loss.
