What happened to my computer? Please help!!

My computer went down for some reason. There is no power to hard-drive, but what does the green light mean on the back of the hard-drive? I plan to return the computer to the store I bought it from but first , would like to get my info/files off the computer. Is there a way? Any suggestions on what to do to fix it?

take your harddrive out from your computer

and then use usb to connect to another computer to get your files out
