I have/had a female rabbit who is about seven years old and has been a great pet. She has always been fine and had never been very sick before. Two or three days ago I realized my rabbits right eye was glazed over and had lots of discharge. I DID know that she was pretty old for a domesticated rabbit but I didn't know what she was sick with. The ear over her eye was also flopped over. My dad told me when I got home that she dead and she was fine a few hours ago until she started breathing funny and he went to call us on the phone to tell us something was wrong and then when he had returned she was dead. When I came home, I turned her over and on her bottom there was some weird brown stuff all over her bottom. I wonder if she may have had worms, the area around her bottom seemed to be sort of infected and enlarged. She had had some p**p stuck there the last few times I picked her up as well.
