  1. Most likely burned out the wires, usually happends when you do not connect the proper wire to its original place

  2. check the car fuses, maybe put a higher one in for a while, say 7 amp fuse box could have 10amp fuse.

  3. When you pushed the head unit back into the dash, one of the power wires was pinched against something metal.  This caused a short circuit and probably blew a fuse in the vehicle's fuse box.

The fuse at the back of the head unit wouldn't have been affected by this.

First, check through the wires at the back of the head unit and repair any damaged spots.  Make sure the connections are well insulated.  The red wire and the yellow wire are the ones to check most closely.

Then, check all your vehicle's fuses.  There are usually two fuses in any vehicle fuse box that supply radio power, and they may not be labeled as radio fuses.  You need to check all your fuses, including any fuse box under the hood.  If you have a digital multimeter, you can check all your fuses very quickly using this method:  http://kzcarfi.blogspot.com/2008/08/test...

  4. sounds like you blew a fuse-- check at the fuse box or see if there is a fuse in the back of the radio
