Question:

What happened to my veins?

I've been working out for about 3 years now, and I'm about 6% body fat. Since I've been in shape, I've always had big veins popping out in my arms and chest. For the past week or so, they have just disappeared. Even when I work out you can barely see them. I haven't gained any body fat or changed anything about my routine. I take the same supplements that I always have. If anyone has any insight, I would greatly appreciate it.

  1. This is a tough one.  The only thing I could suggest is to take your blood pressure and see if its within normal range (120-130/70-80).

  2. Your veins are collapsing.

Are you an elite athlete, do you play state level football or are you an Olympian ?  I don't mean to be rude but why and for how long have you had such a low body fat % ?  Ideal body fat percentages for elite sportsmen ranges from 5% to 16%.  That would be people like Ian Thorpe in his Gold medal days.  No offense to either of you but look at him now.  We all slip up some times.

Body fat is needed to support your organs against shock and injury. A persons brain is fat.  Healthy fat lines your nerves. A bit of fat under your skin on your face keeps you looking young.  I hope you are EATING healthy foods and not just taking protein shakes and supplements.   Otherwise more things might start collapsing.
