Online poker got smacked with US legislation.

There are only 4 major sites left for US citizens. They are:

Make sure you don't sign up through one of the same addresses listed above with random numbers at the end as someone else will reep the rewards of you signing up and you'd get what you normally get anyways. I'd recommend signing up through a rakeback site which get you typically around 30% of your total rake back each month. Check out one of these rakeback sites and follow the instructions:

There's a ton of them.  Only a handful closed to Americans.

I personally believe that Poker Stars and Full Tilt are the best, but there are plenty more.  Try two or three for play money and then if you like one, play for real.

I play semi regularly from the US at Full Tilt, and Poker Stars.  There are a few other sites that serve US residents.  Although it has become more difficult to play online, the idea that online poker in the US is illegal is simply untrue.  There is no federal law that makes it a crime to gamble with a foreign poker site.  Some states have laws pertaining to gambling online, but the likelihood of anyone being prosecuted in these states is highly unlikely.  Though, do so at your own discretion.

In the USA the Feds decided to use the banking laws to try to stop online poker. They made it difficult to deposit and withdraw from online gambing sites.

There are still online poker rooms that are USA legal, you are protected by US law in the event of a dispute, and you can use your credit cards legally under US law.
