how can we say that feminism has suceeded when our entire culture is saturated in pornography? - where there is a lap dancing club on every street corner? - where celebrity culture exists to provide eye candy for men? where instead of simply accepting age, women are cutting and slicing away at their bodies in a desperate attempt to stay young because that is what men want?

-and we STILL d

on't have equal pay!!!

  1. Wasn't feminism about giving women the right to live the lives they chose?

What's it to you if some women make a free and informed decision to make their money by showing their norks off? No-one's insisting you join in...

Your brand of feminism isn't about making women free - it's about making them conform to your own personal view of how the world should be...

  2. I don't want women to cut and slice away their bodies just to stay young, and I'm not a celebrity either, and I don't eat culture. I like pornography though. It's cool.  thanks

  3. Feminists won the battle and lost the war.

Radical feminism can NEVER work for three reasons:

    1. Women who are not feminists will always take the side of men and give them what they want.

    2. A group of radical men will out muscle a group of radical women any day of the week.

    3. Men control must Government, business and infrastructure in the world. Men are the electricians, farmers, mechanics, computer programmers, builders, truck drivers, fishermen, etc. We have all the resources in our control. What power do a group of feminists have?

  4. What should exist is mere feminism; it is the radical part that has turned women against the movement.  Even the great women that started this movement knew to push softly.  If we turn into radicals pushing our beliefs on others we become exactly what we are trying to eradicate.

  5. Actually there are a few radical feminists- I like the Guerrilla Girls who've focused on the sexism in the art world and film: http://www.guerillagirls.com/index.shtml

As for the radicals from the 1960's: Radicals often burn out-that kind of passion is tiring-also when you age you tend to get conservative-especially about money. Look at the baby boomers-few were radical to begin with and how many still are?

I don't like the objectification of women or men-but if you look at what happened when a few feminists tried to legislate pornography-the first things conservatives do with this type of legislation is go after s*x education including anything related to g*y or L*****n sexuality. Some feminists like pornography too. As for lap dancing-as long as some people see women as a commodity-and as long as some women are willing to do it-don't see that changing unless a lot of attitudes changed-which takes time not radicals.

As for aging and lookism you're right-that has been around for a long time and is a hard habit to break. Feminists were mocked for protesting beauty pageants - but the pageants did clean up their act a bit and emphasized the scholarships they awarded to make them look decent and "wholesome"-but again-they're still around. And you're right- women are still discriminated against in pay-especially women who get pregnant.

Well if you can come up with some fun radical ways to wake people up- good luck!

  6. Radical Feminism was never about women's rights.

The radical feminist movement was part of the radical extreme left movement.

The goal of the radical extreme left is to destroy the United States as a world power.

According to the radical extreme left, the United States is evil and must be destroyed or severely damaged so that it does not exert so much power in the world.

the goal of the radical extreme left never was to ensure equal rights for women.

The radical extreme left only used women as a means to destroy or damage the structure of the United States of America.

The policies of the radical extreme left were not designed to ensure equal rights for women and never could have ensured equal rights for women.

The lesson to take from this is that when people have grievances, (not just the feminists) they would be wise not to take their grievances to the radical extreme left.

The radical extreme left will not solve your problems for you, they will only make your problems worse.

  7. Some of it grew up, became successful, got married, had kids and then found out what the world was really all about (maybe!??) lol.

To read articles by people like Rosie Boycott admitting the problems now faced, weren't all male chauvinist scare mongering as she thought at the time, won't be much solace.

For all that there are upsides to the changes that have taken place and equality is in all our long term interests. We must now hope that the Rosie Boycotts' of this world will not let the Harriet Harmon's' reduce the process to the 'boot on the other foot' which is undoubtedly her goal

  8. As long as there is capitalism women will be exploited for profits.

  9. I don't believe that feminism has fully succeeded, but keep in mind the divide in the feminist movement over the issue of sexual liberation vs sexual exploitation.

The fear of growing older among many women is a major problem. But although most pornography is demeaning to women, the issue is not pornography in and of itself, it's simply the way pornography today works. Feminist pornography does exist.

The objectification of women is a problem, but it is a woman's choice whether she decides to conform to the system or not. Ideally the industry will eventually fade away as women's self-esteem rises more naturally.

  10. what world are you living in?

  11. O_o

pornography is a waste of time, but it bring LOTS of money, so its for money just as the clubs

they not only benefit men, they benefith the woman who work on it

there's also eye candy in celebrities for women

that's the way it is D8, male seek younger women to equal the age, you dont want to marry a 120 year old do you?

my gf is older than me anyway(a month), so that's not a rule

some do, some don't but its getting even

depends on the job they perform also >_>
