Chip was trying to get the 41 car more comfortably into the top 35 in owner's points.  Scott Pruett has gotten consistent results when he has driven on the road courses in the past.  Unoficially, the 41 car is the 35th car in owner points, pending the official results at Infineon, but are only 20 points ahead of the 66 car of Haas CNC.

Scott Pruett is better on a road course. Since the 41 needs to get above 35 in points.. "Go or Go home" the ower put Scott behind the wheel to get some points.
