What happened to regular kuhli loaches? Are they rare/endangered now?

All i can find are black kuhli loaches, both online and in stores. Ive called 2 petsmarts, 3 petcos, and 8 mom-n'-pop fish stores and ALL of them say they can only order black kuhlis for me. I live in California, I'm from orange county, now im going to school in the central valley, and i am within close proximity to the bay area and none of these areas have regular kuhlis (so basically no where in this state). What's more interesting is that places like aquabid.com or liveaquaria.com had kuhli loaches. The only place i found them were on eBay, and i refuse to buy each kuhli for $2 but pay $80 for shipping. So whats the deal? Are they rare now or something? Are they a seasonal fish? How long do i have to wait before i can order them from local pet stores again?

idon'tt know much about them but you could try asking one of the mom and pop stores what the story is on them. they would probably have more information than a petco or petsmart. good luck

I ahve 1 with some black kuhlis and I bet if there are non localy you are gonna have to order off of aquabid.
