What happened to the Alkali in Bay City MI?

The dates I have are late 1800's to early 1900's. I have heard rumors of the foundation of the building being haunted. I've also heard rumors that Satanic practices have been performed on the grounds for many years. I don't know how much of that to believe, but if anyone has any answers or links I could follow, I'd be very greatful!

I wouldn't believe any of it. I went there as a teen and nothing out of the ordinary happen other than us trying to scare each other.
