What happened to the McRib from McDonalds?

I agree you can buy ribs at Sam's club and add the ingredients you like and it is so much better also you know only your hands have been on it to make it.

I don't think that I ever did try the McRib.  I think it was a limited time trial offer that they only had available in some test areas.

Eww.  I guess a lot of customers like the McRib because McDonald's brings it back every so often as a promotional item.  However, I do not care for the McRib.  The ones I tried were chewy and had grizzle in them.  It was pretty yucky.

They only bring it back periodically as a special. The first time I had it was in Frankfurt about 1982.

They only have them like twice a year, you just have to enjoy them while they are there. They normally put huge signs out before they start carrying them again.

You can Buy the same thing at Sam's Club, add Barbecue sauce a couple pickles fresh buns and you wont have to WAIT no more.

They are the one thing they can take away then get the customers back by running "The McRib Only for a Limited time at your McDonalds" :)

Meh give them a year or so and it'll be back.  It's been a while since they had it so it should be coming around again soon.

it only comes back once a year.  And besides, it is really nasty.  The sauce smells weird

it wasn't selling that they thought it would so they took it off the market. plus it took them about 3 years to think of the idea and after working that long on it and it didnt sell why continue to keep it on the menu?

For most restaurants it is a promo - limited time offer.  They keep it in demand that way. It is not their best seller, but by offering occasionally, it is much more profitable.

It comes to our McDonalds every Thanksgiving and stays till New Year's.  It is the best sandwich they make, and I don't see why they don't offer it year around. There are McRib groupies out there who cannot wait to eat one every day during it's Christmas visit!
