What happened to the Olympian who threw down his bronze medal?

There was an olympian (I think he's a boxer or wresteler or something) who threw down his bronze medal @ the medal podium. what happened to him? I know he got stripped of his medal, but what happened to the runnerup?

  1. He lost it due to poor conduct (rightly so). I assume it goes to the #4 winner.


  2. nothing really happened, they stripped him of his medal (even though he didn't have it anymore or even want it) but i haven't heard any news about the runner up. good question

    ps he was a wrestler

He was stripped of his metal.  The decision was reviewed and it was later determined that he was right.  The call made was unfair and he shouldn't have been disqualified for the gold medal round.  Once this was determined he said that this is all he wanted, was an acknowledgment from the federation that they were wrong in what they did to him.
