What happened to the Sydney 2000 Cauldron?

I am a little surprised the Sydney 2000 cauldron s not on display somewhere in the old olympic precinct, does anyone know what has happened to it?

A sad story is connected to the cauldron,

but the cauldron was recreated as a water feature and now stands outside the stadium.
