  1. Just because something gets printed in the media doesn't mean it's a viable alternative fuel source.  Energy companies don't have a problem with alternative sources, they're actually leading the way in development.  We all know oil's going to run out eventually, unless the oil companies are poised to take advantage of the next energy technology, they'll go out of business.  Do you think Exxon, Shell or BP will allow themselves to sit back and be run out of business?  Don't be ridiculous.

Gearing up from an experimental benchtop to full scale production kills lots of potential technologies.  Just because a scientist can create a small amount of energy in a 2 liter flask doesn't mean we can expand that process to generate the millions of tons of product necessary to fuel vehicles in the US alone.  Or the technology would yield an equivalent energy cost of $20 per gallon of gasoline.  Are you going to pay $20 a gallon or $3.50 a gallon?  It's a pretty easy answer...

  2. got bought up by gm, never seen or heard from again and you are right, both the auto and oil industry would be targeting him for extinction

  3. The guy who invented that is swimming with the fishes!  Oil tycoons won't allow that to happen.
