What happened to the dubai beach houses?

I saw e-mails, and on the web when I looked it up, pictures of these beautiful houses out the dubai man made islands where every house has a beach. I was on google satellite and looked at them and they look like they have been burnt and blown up, does any one know what happened?

No such thing has happened to the houses. Google Earth's coverage of Dubai isn't so very clear. I've myself had trouble locating many spots.

In fact, the beach-front houses on Dubai's man-made islands are doing very well. In a very good shape, too. There's even a wonderful powerpoint slideshow nowadays doing the rounds on the internet. I could forward it to you if you want.
