Question:

What happened to the issues? ?

During the early part of the primary elections we heard all about different issues and plans...what happened to that? What happened to abolishing the IRS and alternative solutions to taxes? What happened to social security reform? What happened to affordable vs central/socialized health-care? What happened to Iraq war solutions? What happened to economic and housing solutions?

All I seem to be hearing on the news and seeing on Y! Answers is attacks on the candidates and limited talk about engergy. What happened to all of the issues? Aren't the issues the whole idea?

  1. It's just sad tha's why there is so many people out there that's not voting because they feel like these candidates will do and say anything to get a vote.  They don't care about issues?

  2. Politicians are the same all over. They promise to build a bridge even where there is no river.

  3. It's the Republican plan to distract us with lovable Sarah Palin, so we don't notice the low unemployment rate and Wall Street CRASHING yesterday.

    And it's working.

  4. we'll hear it all again as soon as the presidental and vice presidental debates happen... i CANNOT wait until the VP debates Biden is going to destroy that pig in lipstick- it will be a beautiful day!

  5. Exactly!!!

I think maybe we've been caught up in all the hoopla of the conventions. I can't wait to get back to real issues. Looking forward to the debates.

  6. The issues hopefully will be coming in 22 days or is it 21 now?

apx. 3 weeks.. and I am sooo looking forward to it.

    Have a great day!!

    Carrie =)

  7. Yes. But now the media is putting in personal stories about Barack, John McCain and Sarah Palin. Buy you can find their issues and plans at

    barackobama.com

    johnmccain.com

  8. If you're an idiot, have a short attention span, watch a lot of television, care more about pop-stars or athletes then reality please disregard this message and go back to your usual programming.

Obama is an inexperienced hopeful intending to be president and his VP Biden is a seasoned candidate who was chosen to reassure voters that Obama will be okay since he'll have Biden at his side.

McCain is portrayed as a seasoned war veteran, (and a POW in case you didn't hear about it the 100th time), who deeply loves his country and cares about America and its citizens first. Palin is a little known candidate with little experience (much like Obama) The only reason they carefully picked Palin is to make a point. The point is this: If you say that it doesn't matter if Obama is inexperienced while your saying Palin is inexperienced then your a hypocrite.

The republicans are fighting fire with fire. Obama is a candidate that people can't touch. His blackness makes it political suicide if they play hardball with him. Seen any of their adds praising Obama? The sarcastic message is that they feel like they have to give him special treatment, because he is black. It's the forced acceptance of diversity at work.  American's feel, and have felt for a long time, they have to be accepting of minorities lest they endure the wrath of the mighty NAACP and other minority interest groups. The new generation has been indoctrinated by both parties into feeling sorry for minorities. American have been told they have to be extra nice to minorities and give them a smile even when they give you the finger, because nobody wants the racism mark on their resume.

Now, off the race subject and back to reality. The fact of the matter is, this is all a campaign of distraction from both sides. Both sides are telling you exactly what they think you want to hear. They don't want you to dig to deep into their politics and their connections, because there's a lot of dirt under their nails. These people do not represent anything other than their party.  When you elect Obama you are electing the Democratic Party, and GOP with McCain. These parties are funded by special interest groups and large corporations and this is who they represent.  Hence, when you vote for the republicans you are voting for ExxonMobile's interests.  When you vote for democrats your voting for Union interests.  These special interest groups and corporations want favorable treatment or else they wouldn't give money to the party. If the candidates came out and openly expressed this American's would have an outcry and demand change to the system.  Welcome to “democracy” or better yet “oligarchy”.  However, they don't want change, because its too easy to manipulate. They're already accustomed to the corruption process. They don't want to have to learn how to manipulate an entirely new system, and they really don't want any roadblocks in their way, like pesky new laws limiting their power.

Now for the bad news. There is absolutely nothing any of you can do.  Call me a pessimist but this time the glass is more than half empty. We are mere sheep being led by wolves. This whole election process is a distraction. Television is a distraction. The internet is a distraction. Every known form of entertainment is a distraction used to keep you stupid and uninformed. They like you to think your well informed on top notch issues like abortion, g*y rights, minority rights, bla, bla, bla. None of these issues matter to them. They don't care about your rights or anyone else's for that matter.  They care only about power.  We are in a global fascism ladies and gentleman and we are the slaves. For the majority of people who will disregard this as crazy talk, I envy you. I envy your blissful ignorance. I truly wish I and others like me could live in the same abstract fantasy world that you do. What is it that keeps you this way?  Maybe its something in your water.

  9. And IMMIGRATION and illegals?  What happened to that?

I hope that now the conventions are over we can get back to discussions on issues.  Maybe the debates will turn that direction, I sure hope so.

  10. Unfortunately, it's really turned into an argument on personalities.  How sad.

  11. I agree with you.  The conventions are so one-sided and the media fixes on the silliest of issues it fosters these comments.

I hope that the debates will focus more on the issues and the differences between the candidates so people can make a good choice.

  12. Issues? Since when was abolishing the IRS an issue? Sounds more like a dream you may have had.

Anyway, there have been many Y!Answers and news broadcasts that have addressed the issues. I agree there should be more.

  13. Issues are were Republicans fall behind

    Overturning Roe vs Wade

Would knock the air out of Palin if MOST women knew her stance.

  14. They got lost.
