What happened to the king of the ring?

it used to be a real popular ppv and it even made sense to have it there fans liked it and it was considered one of the big 5 with summerslam, royal rumble, wrestleania, and survivor series, the king of the ring tornament shot many pepole to succes(hhh, austin, bret hart, brock lesnar, kurt angle, and edge) so what happened that made wwe stop producing it or nothing happened and they are fools

I liked it. I thought of it as 1 of WWE's main PPVs after 'the Big-4'. I think they should bring it back.

it was appart of the In Your House PPV's in 1992-1999

then once the WWF sold that PPV it was part of Judgement Day PPV Then the WWE sold the king of the ring title to the NWA

I agree, they've made a joke of it the last 2 years, it used to be good.

I agree with you. They should have never gotten rid of it. They brought it back on Smackdown in 2006 and Booker won it and then in 2008 and Regal won it on Raw, but it's just no the same as it used to be when it was on PPV. They should bring it back and have guys who need that big rub to the next level win it.

It'd still be a great PPV, considering that we have the Big Four, and the rest, except for NOC and Cyber Sunday, are all generic. It also didn't help that the last two kings, Booker and Regal, were jokes.
