Bjorg must be more nuts than a bowl of Swiss muesli if he thinks his record isn't getting beat in a few days.

  1. Yeah, you're right. I think his mind might be slightly changed, but if I'm not mistaken... the person he chose to upset Federer was none other than...............

    RAFAEL NADAL!!

Yup. I still think that he's going with Rafa to win this Wimbledon title.

  2. If I remember correctly, Borg's favourites for Wimbledon 08 were:

    1 Nadal

    2 Djokovic

    3 Federer

I thought that was a bit of a gamble, but I'm sure he had good reasons.

In response Tim Henman said he can't see Federer Winning. I agree - on grass he is just too good.

A betting friend of mine agreed with Borg, saying that Djokovic has a very good record against Federer in recent matches:-

That is true, but when Federer gets on that centre court he always plays his best tennis. I don't think Djokovic could have matched him anyway.

What Borg didn't account for is Safin. Time is running out for him to fulfill his potential at wimbledon, which could be the reason he played the best tennis I've yet seen from him.

Djokovic didn't play badly, but just not good enough to match the way Safin was playing. It's easy to underestimate Safin at Wimbledon because in recent years he has had a short temper and was always injured.

This year I'm watching him closesly now - he just might be able to do an Ivanisevic.

  3. who is borg?..i dont remember...

  4. Basically Borg and Djokovic both look like complete idiots after Djokovic lost to Safin. Borg implied that should Federer lose Wimbledon this year, he will no longer be the best and should immediately retire from the sport (ie just as Borg did in the early 80s after he lost to John McEnroe). Then Djokovic didn't focus and started to look too far ahead in his draw.

In the end, Federer is the winner, as he was truly gracious in response to all of the criticism; when asked about Borg's comments, he refused to bite back. However, I still think Federer may have trouble if he plays in the final against Nadal.

  5. Don't listen to Bjorg.  His RG pick for 08 was Roger (on his least fave surface) and then Roger 3rd on his favorite surface. It doesn't make sense.
